📝 About this page

This page is about me beyond the resume — how I think as an engineer, what I enjoy, and the books that shaped how I work. I hope it gives you a better sense of who I am.

💼 How I think about work

Career direction

  • I want a career where I can exercise product, project, people and technical management
    • So far my roles have leaned toward project and technical management; going forward I want to grow the product and people sides
  • I want to build services that create entertainment experiences through video and audio — the kind of content people look forward to coming back to

Choosing technology

  • I think less about the architecture itself and more about what I want tests to guarantee, and which structure best supports that
  • I choose architectures that are easy for the next person on the team to work with
  • On the frontend I usually reach for designs built around Flux-style thinking
  • Testability matters more to me than having everything perfectly uniform

How I work

  • I keep the scope of each change small enough that it can actually be verified
  • I develop in small iterations to get feedback early
  • I value collaboration and keep communication tight within the team

📱 Why I build mobile apps

  • It is genuinely fun to see code I wrote or designed running in someone's hands
  • Building apps that touch people's daily lives is what makes the work rewarding
